   “You wonder what?” Decker asked.

“I wonder if I would be here if it weren’t for my accident,” she replied. “Would I have ever met you? You are certainly not the man of my dreams.”
“Thanks.” Susan could hear the sarcasm in his voice.

“No, I mean it Adam. You are not the picture I imagined but you are certainly the underlying ideal of that dream. The world down there destroyed me and would have finally killed me if you had not come to my rescue. I wish I could be the woman I was for you but if I was I doubt that we would have ever met.”
“Susan if we were meant to be friends and lovers then things would have still happened to bring us together. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and stop questioning the hand of fate. You are living proof you can’t keep a good woman down. Cybernetics was still more in the realm of science fiction before you put your mind to the task of regaining the use of your legs and arm. You single-handedly changed part of our world for the better. Now a lot of people have full normal use of lost arms and legs again because of you. The woman you are now is more beautiful than the woman you were.”
